On the basis that it is business books, that give a real sense of the zeitgeist, much more than blogs or newspapers, I am always interested to see what's considered worth reading.
The shortlist for the The Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award has just been announced and the shortlisted books are:
THE LONG TAIL By Chris Anderson
THE WAL-MART EFFECT By Charles Fishman
CHINA SHAKES THE WORLD By James Kynge
The award aims to identify the book that provides the most compelling and enjoyable insight into modern business issues, including management, finance and economics. I have to confess that as busy, busy lawyers neither of us have had the time to digest any of these, but The Long Tail is a nailed on certainty to be read before Christmas.
