Much as we would love to outsource our firm's administration, I think it will be some time before we follow Clifford Chance LLP aka the "world's largest law firm", who are reportedly about to outsource the whole of the firm's administration to India.
Integreon Management have announced they will be building a service centre in Delhi which will house the administrative staff. The savings to Clifford Chance will apparently be as much as $18 million although one assumes it's the members of the partnership who will benefit from those savings, rather than the firm's clients. Or perhaps that is just a little too cynical on my part.
On a more serious note, it will be interesting to see where this leads. As a firm, we have been approached from time to time over the last few years to outsource our legal work (as opposed to our administrative work which we can't seem to get rid of) and while we haven't investigated it in any great detail, it would be safe to assume that other law firm's are taking advantage of it. That's definitely something to keep an eye on.
