Are Lawyers really like Oil Filters?

Intriguing post from Guy Kawasaki on how the legal fees for his latest venture were incurred. I liked his quote:

Lawyers are like oil filters: You can pay now or you can pay later.

I am not sure I agree with his advice that you definitely need "big firm" lawyers to get you going, although I accept that I am hardly objective. What I do agree with though, is that legal advice, like all good advice does have to be paid for.
