- Steve Bowrick shares a forthright view on the decision of a US court ordering Google to provide details of every user who has ever watched a YouTube video. I have to confess that it does appear to be a bizarre decision, but then I know very little about the background - or US law for that matter.
- The ICANN changes (expanding the range of top level domain names) which will come into effect in 2009 have not been universally well received. John Mackenzie, a partner with Pinsent Masons,told Outlaw.com that the move is bad news for brand holders and Bruno Giussani, a well informed journalist also predicts "chaos".

- Blogger Wins Right to Free Speech News stories about the internet and blogging always frustrate me (having once been a journalist) and now a lawyer. Aside from the fact that the Northern Irish blogger didn't so much win the right to free speech as get acquitted of criminal charges before a magistrate for allegedly intimidating behaviour, tje outcome of the case does little to protect "freedom of expression across the worldwide web" as the report suggests.
